The Red is not one crag but a sprawl of cliff lines hidden in the folds of the Daniel Boone National Forest and surrounding private land. Climbing is concentrated in a handful of large areas: Muir Valley to the west, the PMRP and the Motherlode to the south, and the classic walls along KY-11 and the Nada Tunnel road. Slade is the hub, with Miguel's Pizza as the informal town square. Lexington is an hour away and has the nearest real airport.
